Violin Lessons - School Instruction

My child played violin at school this last year and LOVED it!  We would like to continue learning over the summer.  Can you help!

Consider a 10 lesson summer continuation course!

The $150 continuation course includes:
  • 10 45-minute weekly lessons covering theory, technic, practice and performance material.
  • Lesson provided at the instructor's home, conveniently located near shopping centers, libraries and recreational areas.
  • A summer-end recital for all students.
  • Books and materials (these are yours to keep)
  • A mid-summer fun activity for students!

Common Questions:
  • I don't have a violin in my home!  What do I do? - No problem!  If your student used an instrument from the school, ask about a summer rental.  They will usually work with you!  If you need an instrument, there are several options at local music stores.
  • My child has some special needs.  Can you help with that? - Notably Bright's instructor has a lot of experience with students with special needs.  In her opinion, every student is unique, and one-on-one lessons help each student feel successful at their ability level, not judged compared to other students.  If someone wants to learn, Ms. B is happy to help them!
  • I'm an adult, but would like to take violin lessons, too.  Can you do that? - Absolutely!  We love adults trying something new!  The same deal from above applies!
  • How much does the student need to practice?  This is an important question.  Each student, each lesson, is individually-based.  There is no set-in-stone standard.  That being the case, Ms. B will usually itemize her expectations for practicing during the week at lessons.  Typically, there should be 5 practice sessions between the weekly lessons.
  • I have more than one child that would like to take lessons.  Do you offer a discount for multiple children? - Honestly, it depends on the students and the families.  Notably Bright treats each student as their own person, in order to individualize the lessons.  Please speak with a Notably Bright representative about your family's situation.
IMPORTANT NOTE - If you do have multiple children, please make certain that rules are established for practice times.  Distractions must be kept to a minimum during practice time.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Notably Bright at 402-484-8129.

Violin Lessons - The Beginner

Have you considered violin lessons, but are unsure if the commitment is right for your family?

Consider a 10 lesson summer introductory course!

The $150 basic introductory course includes:
  • 10 45-minute weekly lessons covering theory, technic, practice and performance material.
  • Lesson provided at the instructor's home, conveniently located near shopping centers, libraries and recreational areas.

  • A mid-summer fun activity for students!

Common Questions:
  • I don't have a violin in my home!  What do I do? - It is the responsibility of the families to provide the instrument for the student.  There are several music shops in Lincoln who would be happy to help you find just the right instrument.
  • What age should my child start violin lessons? - Most students are more comfortable starting private music lessons about 2nd grade.  They can read comfortably, and usually have the discipline to practice independently.  If, however, you would like your younger child to start lessons, Notably Bright will be happy to accommodate.  There will be a bigger adult commitment helping younger students learn to practice.
